You may wonder why on earth I feel the need to "be ready" for my 40th birthday. Really, who prepares for such events? Well, crazy (slightly neurotic and maybe a tad OCD) overplanners like me do! See, instead of dreading my 40th (like so many women before me) I want to make it a year full of joy, celebration, experience, and accomplishment. A year to look back and say...my 40th year was one of the best of my life! That, my friends is going to take some mental and physical preparation. My mind and body are nowhere near ready for the "best year of my life."
First stop on my journey...physical readiness. In other words, I want to remove some of the physical limitations that would stand in my way of fully experiencing life and the adventures that lie ahead. If I'm presented with the opportunity to experience a zipline ride through the jungle, I don't want to be standing at the bottom of the tree with an oxygen max strapped to my face because I couldn't make the climb up to the top! Life is too short to sit on the sidelines or never join the game at all!
My first set of tasks...
1. A trip to the grocery store to stock up on healthier choices.
2. An ongoing date with Erica Caine and the treadmill at 7pm every night. It's a guilty pleasure and a good motivator (hopefully)!
I'll check in and let you know how things progress!
